Why Speak Spanish is written in English?

Throughout the years, while I was studying other languages and during my early teaching experience, I found it challenging to grasp the concept of conducting classes entirely in the target language. How could I, as a learner, understand a teacher who is proficient in the language, explaining complex concepts in grammar or vocabulary that I’m still trying to comprehend?

This was a struggle for me, which is why I’m writing this blog in English and explaining all the ideas in an international language, so that you can understand these intricate concepts clearly. Once you have a firm grasp on the concepts, you can then progress to reading, listening, and speaking in Spanish.

Read from the Students

I highly recommend Alex! He’s super fun and has a unique approach to teaching that really helps me understand difficult concepts (like the subjunctive). I can already see a big difference in my grammar and pronunciation. He also has a deep knowledge of history and culture which is an important part of learning a language.

Alex has been an incredible teacher to me. I cannot recommend him enough.
He’s got a great ability to explain the rules and grammar of the language (which is obviously important) but also goes above and beyond to teach me the ways actual native speakers talk (slang, accents, etc). He’s also eager to answer all my silly questions outside of the classroom.
I’ve greatly improved under his tutelage and my Ecuadorian wife agrees. 10/10 highly recommended.

I really enjoyed Alex’s lessons because he integrated fun and culture into each grammar lesson. We listened to popular music, read famous fables from the region, and focused on both spoken and written Spanish (it was important to me to be able to write professionally).
After about 8 months, my Spanish was good enough to live my life without translation! I dated in Spanish, learned to scuba dive in Spanish, and went to the doctor in Spanish. Learning a second language was the single greatest gift I have ever given myself.
Today, I do business and teach scuba in Spanish, and I 100% credit Alex for that!
